Live fish are typically shipped on Thursdays for Friday delivery, weather permitting.
Because shipping live fish is highly sensitive, all live fish orders require overnight shipping and may include additional shipping charges.
Shipments may be delayed during extreme heat, cold, or severe weather to help protect the health and safety of the fish.
Please make sure someone is available to receive the delivery on the scheduled delivery date.
- Color:"Assorted" signifies a mix of possible colors, such as blue, red, yellow, pink, or even patterned variations like mustard gas.
- Fins:Female bettas possess shorter, more streamlined fins compared to the long, flowing fins of males.
- Size:They typically grow to about 2 to 2.5 inches (5 to 6 cm) in length.
- Behavior:While generally more peaceful than males, they can still exhibit some aggression, especially if not given enough space or hiding spots.
- Tank Size:A minimum of a 5-gallon tank is recommended for a single female, but larger tanks, such as 20 gallons or more, are needed for a "sorority" (a group of females).
- Environment:They require a tropical freshwater environment with a stable temperature of 78–82°F (25–28°C) and a pH range of 6.5–7.5.
- Tank Setup:Ample plants and hiding places, such as caves and ornaments, are essential.
- Diet:They are carnivores and should be fed a high-quality diet of betta pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
- Color Variety:You get a unique and vibrant fish without knowing the exact color beforehand.
- Community Tank Option:Their less aggressive nature allows for the possibility of keeping them in groups (sororities) or with other peaceful fish, offering more display options.
